Tests have shown that like humans cats alternate between phases of light and deep
sleep. Dreaming occurs between the deep sleep phase. As they nap paws flex and relax,
claws extend and retract, legs and whiskers twitch and mouths make chattering noises.
Dreaming of cats
Usually a domestic animal symbolises happiness and harmony, but a wild animal represents
an enemy or uncontrollable force. Cats symbolise instinct, intuition, stealth and
feminine sexuality. Because cats are independent and often alone, they may represent
the secret part of yourself. What do cats symbolise for you? All dream symbols have
a personal meaning. Are you afraid of cats? Do you dislike them? Do you love them?
Ask yourself these questions to determine their meaning in your dream.
